The Very Lazy Girl's Guide To Working Out
You would probably find my picture in dictionary beside the “lazy girl” section. I’m not proud of that by any means but that’s who I am. It’s very noticeable when it comes to working out. I was never really into all that gym and group classes’ thing. I’m sure that I’m not the only one. I like to be active, but not in the way where it’s defined as “exercising”.
My first thought when someone mentioned working out in the past was blood, sweat and tears, and my immediate response was “No, thanks!”. It was only this year that I realized how stupid I was. I want to share with you my personal guide for all of you lazy girls who want to get your body in shape but somehow you end up lying in bed eating snacks and looking working out videos, dreaming about your perfect body.

TAKE IT EASY
I know how easy you can feel overexcited and motivated to work out and then set unrealistic goals, as deciding that you’ll work out 6 times a week in the gym and with that take extra classes or go for a run. That’s just the wrong way to do it because that excitement will leave you maybe even after the first few days of trying to keep up with your new working out schedule. It will only push you away from working out and taking care of your body and make you feel miserable because you couldn’t achieve what you set for yourself.
You’re going from barely working out to overdoing it. It’s not good for your body as it is not used to so much activity. Taking baby steps and learning what works best for you is how you should start. You can start with just few sit ups and push ups a day. While you set yourself realistic goals you’ll feel more content, happy and you'll actually want to exercise more. Don’t expect to see some drastic results after you’ve been to gym for two times. I was definitely guilty of that. It takes time for your body to lose fat and gain muscles. It takes longer for our bodies to tone up.

WALK IT OUT
One of the easiest ways for you to be active without feeling like it is going for a walks. This definitely goes well with the first thing I mentioned. We sometimes really underestimate the power of a long walks. I’m sure that most of you go to work or university with your car or public transportation when you could probably walk at least half of the way if not all of it. Taking a hour of your day to go on a walk in the park or forest is definitely a great way to move your body. It’s really simple like that and so beneficial for you as most of you, like myself spend a lot of hours in the day sitting or laying down.
If you have a dog it’s even better because playing with your dog in the park will make you and your body happy. After some time you may try to even go for a run, but all in it's own time. I’m personally still not there, I enjoy longer walks more. It’s always easier when you have someone you can go for a walk with as the time will pass quicker and you’ll probably walk further as you’ll be immersed in conversation and won’t think about how your legs may hurt or that you’re tired.

MAKE TIME
I think that this is the most important part. You probably already have some kind of daily routine and it’s probably pretty tight. Squeezing working out in it may not be very appealing to you, especially if you’re not that keen for any harder activity. So if you really want to start working out and stick to it I recommend you to decide on which days you’re going to do so. Since I started group training I found it so much easier because the time for different classes is already set. You might be a morning person or you may have more free time in the morning so that’s probably the best time for you to workout.
It’s also great for those who really dislike working out as you might end up not working out at all if you leave it for the evening. When you work out in the morning you’ll feel more energized for the day and you’ll know that you’re finished with it and now can go ahead with your everyday life. It’s all about making it a priority. Nobody can force you to work out if you don’t want it, as lazy as you may be if you make it a routine it will get much easier.

JOIN A CLASS
This was definitely the best decision I made this year. It was actually quite a big deal for me as I’ve never worked out with strangers before. I always thought that it would be weird and that I would feel uncomfortable. If you are like me then I recommend you to find a friend who will go to the classes with you. You’ll feel much more calm and ready to work out, you’ll motivate each other and make it more fun. Joining a class is great because you can choose what works best for you. If you’re not that into very hard and full on workouts than I definitely recommend you to start with Yoga class.
That was my first class and I totally fell in love with it. It’s definitely not as easy as you may think if you never tried it but it feels so good afterwards. There are also different types of Yoga classes, so take time to research it or try each of them before you find the one that you like the most. Whenever I really want to sweat I go for Active Body class. I like that it’s fast pace but you can really feel your every muscle. As I already said it’s all about finding what works best for you and adapting it into your lifestyle.

I know that working out can really be something you just don’t like or you can’t stick to it for a long run because I was like that as well. It probably won't be easy if you are not naturally into working out but if you try to fall in love with it I promise that it’ll get much easier.
